If the time is not ripe, we must ripen the time.

Nonprofit Editing & Content Projects

  • Long-Form Addiction Recovery Project

I served as one of six writers on a long-form writing project which was a partnership between two national nonprofits. I was given a general theme and much creative freedom to interpret that theme. This project will be published in later 2024.

  • Military Quality of Life Projects

I have worked on projects with a couple organizations working to improve quality of lie for military families. I wrote blog articles and implemented a developmental and line edit for a workbook. This will be published in 2024.

  • My Own Community-Building Book

In the wake of COVID, I wrote and published a workbook to help people develop a personalized, community-building strategy. The process taught me a lot about publishing, marketing and writing books! I want to do a second run with lessons learned. All in time!

  • United WE Blogs

After experiencing the benefit of an amazing United WE program, I wrote a couple of blogs in conjunction with the org comms team. One was my experience of developing a new passion for civic leadership and the other is a follow-up to a program participant story.

  • Training & Capacity-Building Materials

In my three years at one nonprofit, I wrote over 400 pages of original research-based training materials and resources. As the resdent subject matter expert, I translated complex topics related to international development into actionable resources.

  • Briefs & Funding Proposals

In the same nonprofit, I regularly wrote one-sheet briefs for executive leaders and assisted the grant and donor teams with funding proposals. Persuasive briefs and one-sheets are my all-time favorite.

  • First Mag Print Article - Legacy Magazine

In this story, I tried to connect my unique experience of learning to swim at 27 with common post-pandemic feelings. It was one of my first print publishing opportunities.

  • Social Media Strategy

While working at Excel Creative, a digital marketing agency, I developed many clients’ social media strategies and copy. I brought a nocprofit client on board with three different entities which required separate but aligned strategies across 4 social platforms. It was a challenge, but increased engagement in the months before my departure from the agency!

  • Nonprofit Blog Contests

In the past year, I was a finalist in two nonprofit blog contests, Mission Milspouse and CBE International, both for articles on civic leadership.
